When and Where to Vote

Hello Neighbour,

Voting Day will be here in less than a month’s time, so in my blog today I want to remind you of when and where to vote.

Voting day is officially Monday, September 19th, but why not take advantage of the advance polls on Saturday, September 10th or Sunday, September 11th?  That way, you won’t miss your opportunity to vote should something come up on September 19th.  And it is an opportunity – one that I hope you will be sure to use.

To find out where to vote, please visit the following web-site:

Simply enter your street name and street number, and you will be directed to where to vote – both on September 19th and on the advanced polling dates of September 10th and September 11th.  The web-site also tells you what identification you need to bring with you when you vote.

I’m looking forward to the opportunity and privilege of working for the residents of Ward 5.  Thanks for your support!

All Candidates Forum a success!

Hello Neighbour,

Did you get a chance to watch the All Candidates Forum broadcast live last night on Rogers TV? It was a great experience!

Thanks to Rogers TV for their coverage; to Dorothy Tomiuk of Miranet and Gerry Timbers of our own Mississauga News for great organization, bringing on their their moderating skills, and the expert involvement of their organizations. And especially to the terrific volunteers for taking the time to ensure that all ran smoothly for the candidates, the supporters that were present and the broadcast to the live audience.

There were probing and direct questions submitted by Ward 5 residents that were a pleasure to address. The panel - Simi and Sue and Chris and Louie did a terrific job in putting the questions before the candidates.

If you weren't able to see the broadcast last night, you can still catch it several times before election day, on Rogers TV, Cable 10, the following dates and times:

Sunday September 4, 2011 - 12:00 a.m.
Sunday September 4, 2011 -   8:00 p.m.

And if you would like me to answer any of the questions that I did not have an opportunity to answer in the Forum, or would like me to expand on any of my answers, please do not heistate to contact me
by phone at: 647-705-0696
by email at: votediannedouglas@gmail.com

It would be my privilege to speak with you!

Sincerely,

Dianne

Dianne Douglas - From Ward 5 - for Ward 5!

Hello Ward 5 Residents and welcome to my BLOG,

Today marks the first day of my daily blogs to you as a candidate in the up-coming Ward 5 by-election on September 19th.  I’m so excited to be running in this campaign – but I did not enter without serious thought and consideration.  Ward 5 is near and dear to my heart – I’ve lived, played, volunteered and worshipped here for the past 15 years – it’s my community and I love it here!  I want to make it the best that it can be, and with your help and suggestions, I know we can do it!

I’ve also had the unique privilege of working for Ward 5 – for well over the past 4  years I served as the Ward 5 Executive Assistant so I’m well aware of the needs and challenges of our Ward.  It would be my honour to continue the work that has been started in Ward 5 - and to bring new ideas forward and effectively address new issues that arise.

I’m ready!  Thanks for your support!
